Coordinates:There are very few places in the world where you can connect with the god easily. The 19km trek from Gangotri to Gomukh is infact path to moksha. The scenery is out of the world and you pass through many glaciers along the young ganges river. Make shift facilities are at Chirbasa and Bhojbasa. At Bhojbasa there is ashram of Lal Baba, where you can have food at langar. Impressive peaks of Bhagirathi and shivling are breathtaking. The sun rays shine with star effect reflected from these peaks against the bluest sky one can see. I have visited the place thrice 1993, 2000 & 2006. After Gomukh only few can venture into the Tapovan glacier. Trust me that place is true gates of heaven on earth.
